DO NOT BUY FROM SMART CHOICE MOTORS UK

DO NOT BUY FROM SMART CHOICE MOTORS currently located at Hurst Lane, Egham, Surrey, TW20 8QJ! They sold me a car which they claimed to only have the following issues: replacement of the rear bumper, tail light driver side, tailgate. Several times (even via email) they stated "no mechanical parts had been changed or damaged". I was even given a (FAKED) engineers report falsifying the "minor damage”. Thereafter, I bought the vehicle and I had multiple issues, one being power steering failure. I took it to be inspected by a top IAEA inspector. The report states the vehicle is only worth £5000. I bought the vehicle for just under £10,000. The car had the following serous issues: "The power steering pump wires had been poorly joined and taped together and there appears to be a plug missing from the power steering pump; this area was even found stuffed with rags and paper to stop the parts moving around. - The N/S/F suspension strut was marked in white, indicating it had been replaced with a second hand unit. - There was evidence of attempted repairs to the N/S/F inner wing panel, with damage still apparent. - The engine tray had been replaced by a second hand unit. (Clearly marked - GOLF - images to prove) - The front bumper appeared second hand and was poorly painted with stone chips and paint defects apparent. - The N/S/F fog lamp was out of alignment and did not fit it's recess correctly. - Front spoiler trims were adrift. - There were paint chips and marks to all wing securing bolts and rivets. - There were bumper and liner clips missing. - There was still damage and paint missing from the N/S inner wheel arch / lower sill areas, where presumably in the incident, the wheel has been pushed back into this area. - Paintwork to the N/S of the vehicle is poor with dirt inclusions and orange peel effect. - There is a split in the sidewall of the N/S/R tyre. - Upon inspection of the rest of the vehicle we noted the following points:- - The O/S/F drivers door appears also to have been poorly painted. - There are marks between the drivers side front wing, door and the back edge of bonnet, where no doubt the panels have bounced against each other in the initial impact. - There is a seat belt buckle scratch to the inside B-post aperture. - The headlining is kinked and marked at both rear roof corners. - From our detailed inspection, we would say this vehicle initially sustained a moderate to heavy impact to it's N/S/F corner, impacting the N/S/F wheel and suspension, which were pushed back into the lower front sill areas. - The vehicle has been poorly repaired and painted, utilising second hand parts. - The impact did affect the N/S/F inner wing. - The vehicle requires body jig alignment checks and wheel alignment checks to fully confirm it's geometry and integrity. - The vehicle is not in a roadworthy condition. - There appears to be a significant issue with the power steering pump. This is located behind the front bumper at the N/S/F corner and will have been directly impacted in the initial incident. The pump now fitted to the vehicle may also be second hand and appears to have been fitted with broken wiring and electrical plugs. - The dash fascia Engine Management warning light is illuminated, indicating a failure to the system. - We would suggest our findings are passed to your legal representative. - The vehicle is clearly not fit for purpose and it would appear you have been mislead in your initial transaction." The list goes on! The company have since stated "we sold you the wrong car” but “we are never going to apologise to you". The company initially claimed they would collect the vehicle but only give me £9000, however they are now ignoring all correspondence. Luckily I make sure all correspondence is recorded in writing or audio. The IAEA assessor and my bank reviewed all the correspondence with the company, backdated to the very first email I sent to them, and they have both confirmed I was wholly mis-sold the vehicle. In conclusion, based on my dealings with them: PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM SMART CHOICE MOTORS!!!! THEY CAN NOT BE TRUSTED.
