Terrible after sales care
This is my 2nd review since buying a car from Car store Shrewsbury. Bought car & was delivered 22/11/22. 3 weeks & 288 miles later gear’s went. Took 3 weeks, costing me extra and a huge battle but was eventually fixed. Roll on 3 weeks and total of 390 miles driven in the 10 weeks I had the car: Car loss of power again, drivers electric window won’t work and red engine warning light comes up so another fault. Called 4.05pm 27/1/23 was told someone would call me back in 5 minutes. 5.25pm I called again as no one called back. Told nothing they could do until Monday 30/1/23 but someone would call one of 4 nearby dealerships and arrange to get booked in. Eventually called at 2pm Monday but they hadn’t spoken to local dealerships and nothing had been arranged. Considering its the second fault in such a short time they don’t seem that bothered. I informed them I spoke with citizens advice who confirmed under the statutory Consumer Protection Act, as it’s the 2nd fault I have a final right to reject the car with a full refund plus extra expenses I have incurred. I informed Car store I would be open to discussion before I made my final decision on whether to reject and he told me he would pass this onto the sales team and someone would get back to me. No one has been in touch again so I am now in the process to formally request a final rejection of the car due to it being of unsatisfactory quality and unfit for purpose. They have been more concerned with the last negative but factual review I did than improving their service. The only contact they have made this week is to confirm they have my complaint and someone will be in touch. I think they are trying to drag this out in the hope I will go away and give up but until this is resolved I will not! On doing research this seems to be standard practice of the whole company who seem to think that Statutory consumer law doesn’t apply to them. I also hope they realise that as the fault has been logged, my 3 month guarantee won’t run out as the clock stops while they are apparently “investigating “ which is also law to stop companies like this from dragging it out with underhanded tactics.
