Meaningless holding deposit

Paid holding deposit last Wednesday on Hyundai i30 N for sale at West Riding Salford. Spoke to Benji on Thursday to arrange a viewing. He couldn't access details as he was not at his desk. Friday Paul rang me back to say that the car had been sold for over a week and was awaiting collection. When I asked for my deposit back he replied that it would be automatically refunded after seven days. i look forward to seeing if this is correct. Not at all impressed, but relieved that I didn't waste a return journey from North Wales. Star rating for car description and value for money only based on pictures of the vehicle as I've not been able to view the actual car.
