Hi Steve, I find it a great shame you’ve both felt the need to leave these comments. If the car wasn’t for you both then that’s fine, but to try and tarnish the reputation of a small business is disappointing. Google reviews can have a very negative impact on small businesses. We’ve not intentionally deceived anyone, one service does justify service history. Have we advertised it as full service, no. We have 30+ photos of our cars, all noticeable damage can be seen, nothing is hidden. As for the ‘list of advisories’, it is an older car and was coming with a brand new MOT anyways most the previous advisories were just tyres!

Before starting let me be clear I was debating on weather or not to leave a 1 star review.
I recently went to Trophy car sales to view the Grey Vauxhall Insignia SRI on a 14 plate they currently have in stock.
To be fair to the car it was aesthetically in the condition I would come to expect of a used car with 100000+ miles on the clock.
It was clear it had been sat on their lot for a good amount of time in the fact that there was moss starting to grow over the corners of the windscreen rubbers but nothing a decent clean and valet can't sort out. Having satisfied myself with the condition of the car aesthetically I moved onto the cars mechanics, again on visual inspection the only thing that appeared in need of attention was the cam belt and water pump as these need doing at 100000 mile on the Insignia (currently owning a Insignia I already knew this). I went to speak to the sales man and aired my interest in the car and enquired if there had been any history or the cambelt + waterpump being done, at this point he suggested it was a timing chain, not meaning to argue I informed him I owned an Insignia and that it was a belt and they needed replacing at 100000 and could this be done if I was to purchase the car. He told me that he would speak to his boss and go from there.
The next day I spoke to the same sales man and he informed me that the car would be price X without the cambelt + water pump or price Y with the work being done, I provisionally agreed to price Y pending a test drive of the Insignia.
The test drive. Pulling off the lot the first thing I remarked was how bad the clutch was the bite point was virtually at the end of its travel. The sales man said he had driven it and had felt fine. I assured him as I own a Insignia this was not how the clutch should feel. He didn't seem to give much credence to my opinion dismissing it as invalid not great salesmanship. He then tried to claim that the clutch could be adjusted, I called bullsh*t on this as they can't, a clutch is a consumable item and this one was on it's last legs 5000-miles left maybe if your lucky (depending on driver)
I completed the test drive the sales man returned to the office I took this opportunity to stay in the car and go through everything electronic wise at which point I found that even when it was only 8 degree (early Dec) outside the cars AC couldn't blow cold.
I spoke to the sales man afterwards and highlighted all issues, I said that I was still interested in the car as it was still a reasonable car but just needed a couple of details sorted to ensure that it would be reliable for me to do the 112mile round trip to work everyday. He said he would look into the cost of the clutch and dual mass flywheel and ring me back.
The next day he phoned and quoted £900 in parts which I knew was to high considering I had the same parts replaced in mine for less than £700 5 months ago.
I said I would consider the car and come back to him.
Couple of days later I spoke with young sales man and said that I was interested in the car but not at the price that it would cost to get it to an acceptable standard, I had advised with the cost of the work required I could get a lower mileage example without these issues. At this point it became clear they were just interested in making a sale with as little effort as possible and he wasn't willing to take this into consideration and renegotiate a price.
I would advise anyone who is looking to buy a car from Trophy Car Sales if you are not mechanically knowledgeable take a friend who is ( we all have that mate who's into cars ) they are selling okay cars but with very costly problems potentially lurking.
Cost of water pump + cambelt + labour = £350
Cost of clutch + flywheel = £750 + 120 labour
Getting hit with a repair bill of £1200+ after spending £6295 on a car would boil anyone's piss.
All I would say in summing up is approach with care.
All of the above is accurate and up until the point of attempting to renegotiate the price I found Lewis helpful however his attitude there after was short and dismissive.
