Rude, arrogant & nasty

Hi Darren I am so sorry that you have been scammed and lost money to this human, he is a vile person who does not care about anything or anyone else he is only bothered about himself. I was unfortunate enough to buy a car from Bowden Car Sales in February 2022. When I went to view the car at the garage Nigel Bowden told me that I was unable to test drive the car due to Covid restrictions. I found this odd but didn’t argue with him and at the time didn’t think too much into this. However at that time we were out of lockdown and people were no longer required to wear masks and he had no mask on when I went to look at the car, but as I said I didn’t challenge this. I liked the look of the car after sitting in it and looking at the bodywork and state of the car. I paid a deposit of £250 and left the garage over the moon with the thought of collecting the car within a week. I collected the car on 14/2/2022 and noticed virtually the day I collected it that it didn’t feel right so I contacted Nigel Bowden and he asked me to take the car back which I did the day after. He looked at it and said that he would order a part for the repair of the car and he would let me know when the part was in. After 2 weeks still no call from Nigel Bowden so I contacted him and he said it was on the way. I gave this some thought and after some consideration and speaking to my family I rang again and asked for my money back and he point blank refused to give me a refund even though I was still in my rights to have a refund as I was still within the 30 days which is stated in The Consumer Rights Act 2015. In the mean time I took the car to an independent garage to get a full report on what was wrong with the car as the engine management light had come on more than once and a warning message also came on telling me to take the car to a garage and get it repaired immediately this just worried me even more. The garage told me that the car had numerous leaks both oil and water leaks, the sump was leaking and I was told that the car really needed a new engine. I am of the impression at this point that the car had not had an MOT by a legit garage and felt even more that I was not going to keep the car. This again made me very anxious and by this time I was more than angry. I had sent letters and e mails asking for a refund, Nigel Bowden received the letters and e mails and told me that I wasn’t getting a refund. My daughters partner rang and he was told to f**k off by Nigel Bowden. This whole experience left me extremely anxious i had sleepless nights. I didn’t eat and my mental health was beginning to suffer so I decided on a different approach. I contacted my bank and I opened a debit card dispute and eventually I got most of my money back 🙏🏻 I am recently widowed and buying a car on my own without my husband to support me was a daunting experience to say the least, Nigel Bowden was fully aware of my situation as I explained the situation to him when I went to look at the car, and still he treated me this way without an ounce of compassion. After getting most of my money back I now had to put my trust in someone else and buy another car. I eventually found a lovely little car at a garage in Manchester. The gentleman at the garage which is called Phoenix Cars, they are based on Hyde Road in Manchester, the owner of the garage dealt with me and he is called Ben he was so helpful and treated me very well. I would definitely recommend this car sales place 110%. I have since drove past Bowden Cars and noticed they have now changed their name to Senna Autos. However I found out today that there are no cars on the site at all and the forecourt is completely empty. I would like to think that they have been closed down and are no longer trading and no more people will be treated so badly again. It just seems wrong that we are now in 2022 and he has been able to trade and treat people so bad for so long and he continued to take peoples hard earned money without a care in the world.
