Disappointing experience

I purchased a Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo (Reg CE12 MMJ) for the full asking price of £4990 from James Bush Cars, Brigg on Saturday (24th Sept 2022). I returned it today (27th Sept) at midday due to 2 ‘limp home mode’ incidents occurring within 48 hours of the purchase. I notice it is for sale again today 27th Sept, 2pm for the price of £5290. The garage met their legal obligation to provide me with a full refund for the cost of vehicle. I am hopeful the dealer will do the right thing and have the fault investigated before they sell it on, but I thought it was worth mentioning this experience. The car is advertised as having 2 previous keepers, this same narrative was used in the advert when we first viewed the vehicle – and I have owned it since then, all be it for 48 hours. Incidentally I wasn’t refunded for the cost of £50 I spent on filling the petrol tank (instead the dealer recommended I removed the petrol from the tank before returning it) and whilst I was hesitant to drive the vehicle back to the dealer due to what may be an intermittent engine fault, the dealer was steadfast and unwilling to consider recovering the vehicle from my home. So, whilst they met their legal obligation to refund the cost of the vehicle, for me, it was a poor customer experience. The fuel tank was next to empty when I purchased the car, one of the spare keys was broken, the Skoda car mats (found overturned in the boot of the car after the purchase) were marked and stained. It is fair to say, from a customer service experience, there were no ‘good will’ gestures with this car dealer.
