Massively over-charged for unneeded work

My air con had a leak and I was charged £132 for them to ‘inspect’ the car and find exactly where the leak was. They said that a pipe, the compressor and the seal between them all needed replacement and quoted me £1,343 for the repair. Instead, I took my car to a different garage who found the leak in the seal and charged me a total of £269 for their own inspection and all parts and labour. It turns out, Citroen’s ‘inspection’ didn’t include taking the parts apart to find out exactly which part had failed. I complained to Citroen and to be fair, they refunded me the £132. Regardless, they didn’t properly diagnose the problem but still quoted me a huge amount of money for unnecessary work.
