DON'T TRUST, dodgy MOT and dangerous car

I was so happy when I bought my car in January, paid £5,500 for it, good mileage and looked great. There were 6 advisories on the last MOT that Roger promised he'd fix before selling to me. His friend did the MOT, there were no advisories and I was told the car had 2 new tyres as well, great I thought! 6 months later my check engine light came on so took it to the garage, there was a problem with the turbo so got this fixed but while doing so they found lots of other issues. I showed them the previous advisories and the garage confirmed that none of them had been fixed and the exact problems were still there in the same places - tyres splitting and worn, damage to the inside walls, wheel damage, damage to the silencer mount. Over £1,000 later and the car is now nearly in the condition that it should have been when I bought it. We've complained to Roger about this, he denied any wrong doing, agreed to pay £300 for the tyres but that didn't even cover the cost to fix the advisories that he'd promised were already sorted. The worst part is that as far as I was concerned the car was safe to drive and if the check engine light hadn't come on I wouldn't have found out about the dodgy tyre until it was too late. I'm also reporting the MOT tester for lying on the certificate and leaving off the advisories. I would have highly recommended MSC as he seemed so genuine and helpful but this showed he was just very good at lying.
