Great service
I have driven VWs for most of the last 30 years (owned and/or company cars) in the UK and North America. I always get them serviced when required, 95% of the time at a dealer. This is my first experience at the Drift Bridge VW dealership. I came because my usual VW dealership in Coulsdon told me it would be 6 weeks before they could assess my "Emission Workshop" amber warning light. This was an unusually excessive wait and, I think, indicative of a decline in service standards there since the Coulsdon VW dealership underwent a change in ownership. Drift Bridge was able to fit me in within a more reasonable 2 week wait and gave me advice on whether it was safe to drive my car in the interim. My experience with the Drift Bridge dealership in relation to the visit itself also reflected excellent customer service. They were very friendly and helpful before, during and after the completion of the investigation. I also respect the fact they just cleaned the temperature sensor, which had apparently caused the light to come on, rather than saying I needed a replacement for an extra £300. I imagine less scrupulous companies would have instead fleeced me and insisted on a new part. I've been considering a new car for a few years now but have not found one I love as much as my current VW Bora. The Bora is the perfect mix of size and function for me. However, I will probably need to look for a new car next year if the ULEZ zone expands to include my area. VWs will obviously be in my consideration set and, based on my most recent service experience, I will approach VW Drift Bridge and NOT the one in Coulsdon to assess my options when necessary.
