Dreadful Customer Service

Because of the lengthy period between ordering and delivery of a new car we had extensive phone and email contact with the Barnsley Fiat branch over many months. Our dealings were mainly with Josh and Paul and occasionally with Brad, Matt, Danny and Owen ! With rare exceptions, the standard of customer service was appalling. Promised return phone calls were not made, messages were not passed on, "guaranteed" monthly updates never materialised, and inaccurate information was given. While it is understandable that there were several factors causing production and delivery delays, this company has no concept whatsoever of the reputational value of keeping customers updated with reliable information on the progress of their order. From a low baseline the service improved marginally in the final days before handover, but even then there was inaccurate information about charging cables and an unfulfilled promise of a customer service phone call after a couple of days ! No problems with the new car, but having bought several new cars over the years from various dealerships the service from Barnsley Fiat was the worst ever.
