DO NOT BUY FROM VARIETY CARS

This review should come as no surprise to Variety Cars. I am extremely upset to be sharing this, however I feel the need to share so others don’t make the same mistake that we have. Having recently bought a car from Variety Cars, my best advice would be, DONT. Within one day of having our new car, a warning light came on. We contacted them straight away to let them know, and got a fairly rude reply, claiming that this has obviously happened after it left the forecourt, passing the blame onto us immediately. We tried everything to rectify the problem ourselves, and after a few days of no luck we contacted again asking to bring the car back in. We arranged a date to bring it in, my husband and I both took time out of work to come out, knowing we’d have to leave the car with them, so came in separate vehicles, to be told that their mechanic wasn’t in that day as he rang in sick in the morning (baring in mind this was now the afternoon, giving them plenty of time to forewarn us not to bring it in that day!) They then told us it appears that the fault would need to be repaired by a Ford garage, as it was a specific problem that only Ford could rectify. (Please bare in mind; our car is under warranty.) We took it to a Ford garage who diagnosed the problem, who then discussed it with Variety cars who gave them the go ahead. Once the work was completed, payment was then due. The Ford garage contacted Variety Cars again to collect payment, but they refused to pay and were extremely rude to them. Variety Cars then rang my husband and argued with him on the phone for 30 mins, trying to pass the buck again, saying it was our fault, and refused to make full payment for the works that needed doing, leaving us in a very difficult situation. Not only have we just spent £8500 on a car, we wasted petrol on two cars going out to them for no reason, and are now being dumped with a huge bill for something they should’ve picked up on before they sold it to us. I have plenty of evidence to back all my above claims, I have left a paper trial and have photos of invoicing, video footage of what the Ford garage discovered, emails sent to Variety cars, which I am more than happy to share if necessary. Thanks to Ford Hartwell, our car has now been fixed, they were extremely helpful, and looked after us, after such a stressful time, which should never have happened. DO NOT BUY FROM VARIETY CARS.
