I bought a Fiat Bravo a little over a year ago. Upon driving it home it was apparent there was a serious problem with the gearbox. I contacted the dealer and they said to take back to them. I did this and they had the car for two weeks, telling me they had put another second hand gearbox in. Four weeks later, exactly the same problem. I took the car back, another 180 mile round trip, at my own expense, to be told they must have used the wrong oil? The car then stayed with them for another 3 weeks while all the bearings were replaced. So they say! The gearbox has now gone again and will need replacing. I appreciate that buying a new car comes with an element of risk but in the first year, and only 5000 miles, this car has needed the gearbox out twice, a new driveshaft, new exhaust, 3 new wheel bearings, the abs fixed and a new differential bearing. I have emailed the garage asking them to look at the car but they have chosen to ignore them. I would recommend a full AA or RAC inspection before purchasing from Fox Hayes Car Sales.
