Unprofessional and unhelpful
I bought a car off Mayfair Motors a month ago and was told the car was in perfect condition with no issues. Despite this, I was told I still had 3 months full warranty should I buy the car. The day after buying the car, it wouldn’t start. Naturally I called Mayfair to explain the issue; however, I was met with an extremely rude and confrontational response from someone called Zam. Instead of trying to help me resolve the issue, they were instead extremely combative and argumentative, implying I was too naïve to understand the issue and suggested the car was in fact fine, despite not starting. I had to get my friend involved in the call for them to take my issue seriously (I imagine because I am female and my friend is male). Eventually, we agreed to get the issue fixed at a local garage and invoice Mayfair for the repairs, which they would reimburse me for. After getting the car fixed, Mayfair started ignoring me. I emailed and called countless times over the next three weeks. Any time I was actually able to get through to the company (off a different number that they didn’t know was mine), they pretended not to know me or my issue, despite speaking to the same people, Adam and Zam. They finally decided to acknowledge me when I told them I was getting a solicitor and going to the Motor Ombudsman; however, they disputed the price of the repairs and refused to cover it, instead saying they would cover just a fraction of the cost. The one thing I cannot fully convey in this review is how rude and combative everyone at the company has been throughout the entire process. They are truly the most argumentative people I have ever had to deal with, and have absolutely no respect or care for their customers. This case is currently ongoing, I have approached the Motor Ombudsman and a Solicitor and will no doubt have my costs reimbursed through those channels, despite Mayfair’s efforts not to cover any of the cost. All this to say, this is categorically the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with and they certainly do not deserve your money, please for your own sake, go somewhere else.
