Sloppy pre-sale checks
The car had an MOT with advisories on the brake discs, "worn, pitted or scored". They assured me they would "sort it". I was coming up from London to pick the car up, so I was kind of committed when I got there. Guess how they sorted it? By using their own MOT station to make the fault disappear! The brake discs were still worn, pitted and scored and certainly weren't new. The pre sale check list was fully filled in, but not carried out - eg the dust caps were missing from two tyres, yet there was a check mark in the box to say they'd been checked. What else did they miss? I had to buy a new 12v battery because the one that came with the car kept triggering the battery saver (it's a plug-in hybrid). They said any checks I wanted doing had to be paid for by me at a garage of their choosing local to me. Their aftersales care is non existent. Once they've got rid of the car they're really not interested. Very very poor indeed. I will report to the DVSA over the dodgy MOT, and to trading standards about the wisdom of having a used car showroom that has its own MOT station that can effectively pass any car that goes through it's system with no faults or advisories.
