Terrible experience with S M Motors

Steve is unreliable, untrustworthy and terrible to deal with! We are still waiting for the Log book, spare key and FSH 😟 I bought a (surprise) Fiat 500 car for my daughter and discussed everything over the phone with Steve before agreeing a time to view and collect the car as we are over 60 miles away. He told me there were 2 keys, FSH and the car was good to go! When we got to the garage and after we had paid £6000 by BANK TRANSFER! as he wouldn’t accept card payments, he then told us he didn’t have the spare key and that the service book didn’t have all the stamps. He insisted on keeping the service book to get it properly stamped as it was a local garage, and as he was friends with the previous owner of the car, he would get the spare key from them and post it to us that week. We are still waiting 6 weeks later, and he has stopped answering my calls, we had several excuses about his child being ill, him being ill and then him getting Covid which prevented him from sending us the spare key and FSH. He assured us he would send the log book, but we still haven’t received it! Steve McKeown is totally unreliable and cannot be trusted to do anything he says. We bought the car in good faith and accepted the minor damage above the wheel arch, which he didn’t mention before viewing, and we are at a loss as to why he hasn’t fulfilled his duty to us to register the car, why he hasn’t sent the spare key and why he hasn’t sent the FSH book. He is very plausible and gave excuse after excuse until he now no longer replies via text, email, WhatsApp. I cannot recommend this car dealer
