TERRIBLE LIARS
PLEASE READ!!! Before you spend the cost of a deposit on a house with these cowboys please think again. I purchased a Mercedes A45 in November 2021 from churchs performance, went through the process with Charlie and all went smoothly I collected the car and drove home happy, around 10 days after the purchase whilst driving on the motorway the car made a very noticeable stutter at around 5000 revs just before changing gear.immediately I panicked and changed up myself using the paddles as the car was an automatic I got home and took the car to a local mechanic for a diagnostic returning 8 fault codes everything from a stereo fault air conditioning fault to 2 main engine faults P1CE700 crankcase ventilation wide open throttle cylinder bank 1 has a malfunction. And the second being,P06DA00 the actuation of the valve of the oil pump in the combustion engine has an electrical fault or open circuit.I contacted churchs to be now passed to Ryan who in fairness booked it in to MSL in Birmingham for a diagnostic I travelled the hour to MSL only to be sent home as Ryan did not want to pay the cost for the oil and filter change that it would obviously need as the sump needed dropping to get to the switch and solenoid to rectify the P06DA00 fault.A few days later Ryan phoned me telling me to go back to MSL ( another 100mile round trip and about £40 in juice) I went and got the sump plug changed which on the drive home had not fixed the stuttering issue which is now a few weeks down the line getting more frequent and much more noticeable.I contacted Ryan to tell him it was still happening to be told to go back to MSL as Ryan believed the car may have been remapped by the previous owner and that may be causing the issue so I did (again more miles on the car and another £40 in petrol)arriving at MSL they done a software update on both the engine and gearbox to reset any possible remap.again on the journey home the issue persisted.I took the car myself for a smoke test looking for any air leaks and a pressure test on the turbo as the main boss at MSL was adamant it was a turbo issue, after no avail churchs told me they needed the car back with them 200miles away and 3.5 hrs drive so I agreed but to be told I would not be given a car to use whilst they had mine after playing my face I finally got a old 03 plate 1series bmw it was mouldy and stunk .but it was a car so I took it. After 2 weeks Ryan called telling me there mechanic dale had witnessed the problem and it was now all fixed telling me it was a cheap map on the gear box and they had flashed it with the latest software (EVEN THO MSL DONE THIS A FEW WEEKS PRIOR I WENT WITH IT) so I went down to collect the car happy that my car was now fixed I arrived to meet Ryan’s dad Glenn I pulled off churchs premises didn’t even get to the first bend and there it was the now 4 month old stutter.I immediately turned round went back and told Glenn it’s not fixed,I asked Glenn to get in the car to witness this unmissable stutter that now not only did it at higher revs and before gear changes now does it all through the rev range. I took Glenn on a short drive, with this stutter that we had tried to fix for over 4months and cost Glenn hundreds of pounds, and heard by everybody even Glenn’s own mechanic dale for Glenn Miraculously to not be able to hear it Glenn then went on to tell me the car has no issue we don’t know what you are talking about(if this is the case what have you been trying to fix for months)Glenn then told me hes not giving me my money back but He offered buy it back off me for £4000 less than I paid 4 months ago.(HOW KIND OF HIM),After a long uncomfortable conversation and Glenn not budging I took the car home to get legal advice.I got home and issued Glenn with a pre court action letter under the consumer right act as the fault started well within my 30 days of purchase,to be told by Glenn we have sold you a good car and we are not at fault if you can supply an independent engineers report we will reassess the issue. So I took the car to a local independent garage for a diagnostic which came back with a new fault code U010000 “communication with the control unit combustion engine has a malfunction there is a general failure code stored” I got the report in writing and forwarded it to Glenn.around 3 weeks later after chasing Glenn I got a call from a man call mark mantley saying he works for Glenn and he wanted to send the car to Mercedes (great I thought, finally this will get sorted) he went on to tell me he could not book it in I had to either drop it off the night before or have it there first thing 9am sharp (which raised red flags) but I went with it he went on to tell me it was going in for a in house second hand car diagnostic telling me it would take 2/4 hours but I would not be given the results of the diagnostic on the day that mark would forward them to me 3days later,Which did not sit right with me so I called the Mercedes garage mark had so called booked it in at to be told my car was not booked in on the day or time mark told me and that if it was I would most definitely get the results the same day as I am the cars owner.they went on to tell me they don’t do in house jobs for external company’s and they had no knowledge of mark or my apparent diagnostic.so I phoned mark to double check I had the correct garage and time to be shouted at by mark telling me how dare I interfere in things he had arranged and having the phone put down on me twice .I called mark back telling him I’m not happy with what he was saying and that Mercedes don’t know anything about my so called diagnostic.mark went on to tell me he had a friend that worked there and he had pulled a favour that’s why it wasn’t booked in.I told mark I will get the diagnostic done at Mercedes and send him the results to be told no we won’t except it from you it’s our way or not at all.my options then became limited it was pay thousand to take them to court or except there joke of an offer of £4000 less so if you are reading this looking at buying the silver 16plate A45 trust me go elsewhere if you are planning on buying any car from them go elsewhere you may buy a car with no issues like the people who have give them good reviews but if you have an issue with one good luck to you because you will need it. They are lieing sneaky people I will never go back and advise anybody to stay clear.mark wanted it there first thing so his friend could give it a quick clean bill of health before his main jobs that’s my opinion.dodgy bunch of guys
