NEVER HAND YOUR MONEY OVER
Buckle up and settle in for a story about possibly the worst car dealership in the south of England. I bought a VW Passat estate from these guys at the start of march, all seemed well when arriving at the dealership to test drive the vehicle, the lady that was working happily gave me the keys and said to take it for a drive for as long as i want. all seemed well, the car drove as it should of, so after a bit of thinking i decided to place a deposit on the vehicle ( after a bit of haggling). I then arranged to come back later that day and pick the vehicle up, the vehicle was fairly low mileage for its age so i paid £4600 for it. got the vehicle home and was happy, with the car and the service i received. I used the vehicle the next day to get to work and all seemed well. That's about as far as the good side to this story goes im afraid, when going home from work the vehicle started to struggle in 3rd gear and bang in to 4th ( dsg gearbox), thought it would of been my driving style but 17 years in the motor trade means i quickly put that doubt to the back of my mind. Got the vehicle home and BANG engine management light on dash. i went away for a few days so didn't use the car, when i returned i thought it might of just been a blip so took it to work again, and low and behold same thing happened again, managed to limp the vehicle to my local VW Specialist for a diagnostic check. They quickly told me that the vehicle required a new gearbox, ( new gearbox approx £6000) obviously i wasnt going to pay that. Rang car deal ltd stating that i want a refund as vehicle is not fit for purpose and being well within my legal rights to do so ( consumer rights act 2015). Well within their rights they asked me to bring the vehicle back so they could get a mechanic to have a look, i was fine with that as there is always 2 sides to everything in life. Even though i was happy for them to do that i was still stating that a full refund is the only option going forward as i had no trust in the vehicle. The Gentleman i dealt with was very against the refund, which i can understand, any small business that needs to refund £4600 is never going to be happy about it. He then made me sign some bullshit contract he scrawled up with a biro. I was happy to do so because i always knew i was going to get my refund. They messed around with getting the car seen to, took their time with it. A good dealership would of got that seen to straight away, my patience had run out so i threatened them with court proceedings and solicitor letters. They then quickly agreed to the refund, always knew they were going to. To summarise this lengthy review i simply warn everyone to avoid this dealership. The gentleman in there tries to intimidate you, the lady is rude and obnoxious, the vehicles are clearly Dodgy, i have done research on them and the MOT's are dodgy too. Their good reviews on google and yell etc are all done by friends. PLEASE AVOID HANDING YOUR MONEY OVER TO THESE CROOKS!!! ALSO AVOID VW PASSAT ESTATE, BLACK, OE59 ECJ, THE CAR NEEDS A NEW DSG GEARBOX. im just happy that i got my refund.
