After researching a range of car dealers I decided to purchase a car from Arnold Clark Chesterfield in April 2021. I made this decision based on reviews, notably the level of customer service provided on used cars. Unfortunately, my experience has been negative and riddled with issues which are still ongoing - so please think twice if you're looking to use Arnold Clark. I have contacted the General Manager directly prior to sharing this review, however no solution to the issues i've faced have been put forward so i feel it's only fair to share my experience so others don't end up in a similar situation.  I'm self employed and use my vehicle for work in addition to supporting my young family on school runs, clubs etc. I now unfortunately find myself in a position where my car is not fit to be on the road and therefore both my work and home life are affected.  Within 3 months of purchasing a 62 plate Focus I had a number of issues:  * Flat battery  - this was on the way to a client one morning, the vehicle had to be towed from the roadside resulting in a loss of earnings.  * Steering wheel  - the steering wheel had sharp metal which sliced my finger open. I called the branch and explained this, also sharing the picture, to put tape over it.  * Seal on the door - this was loose and would just flap down and hang outside the door, having to tape to the inside to stop this from happening. I rang the branch and was told to speak to Ford.  * Clutch - there was an issue with the clutch which required me to take the car back to branch again on a working day, resulting in a loss of earnings, not to mention the days it was kept in for, over a week with no car and to be told all your courtesy cars are not available. Each time I made contact I was passed from person to person, i can't say a high level of customer service was provided during any of my interactions however it's been a strange few years for everyone so passed it off as a blip. The nail in the coffin was a few months later when the car ran out of power whilst on the way to work. I managed to get towed to a Motorsave to be told I would need a brand-new engine, I was devastated as you can imagine!  This is a vehicle I've had for 10 months and bought it with 52,000 on the clock - I have done 14,000 miles. I then called my closest branch to be told it's not their issue due to not having an extended warranty. I am now in a position where I'm unable to work and have no vehicle.  So please read this and just be warned before parting with your hard-earned cash.
