Avoid this company at all costs unless you want to be constantly lied to, have money taken from your bank account without approval and are prepared to send numerous emails and have countless telephone conversations with a company who do not have the lightest respect for their customers. I purchased a vehicle off them in October 2015, and was told to pay the full amount for the vehicle by bank transfer prior to picking up the vehicle. When I picked up the vehicle I pointed out that they had not paid for the road tax. The following day they removed cash from my account to pay for the tax, without my authorisation. After 5 weeks of phone calls and emails, they had still not paid the tax or registered the vehicle in my name although they confirmed on various occasions that it had either been paid or would be paid that day. Eventually I paid the tax at the post office and requested that they repay the cost of the tax and also the cost of registering the vehicle at the post office. Only after threatening to take them to court did they agree to repay me by cheque. Again after numerous emails the money was not forthcoming. I received an email stating that a cheque was in the post only to receive another email days later to say they would post a cheque when the director returned to work. The cheque finally arrived on 24th December; it had however been signed and dated 8th December. From having the money removed from my account to finally getting payment took Shawmotors 12 weeks. During this time I have had to replace the battery and 2 tyres, one which was noted on the mot advisory but not changed. The tyres would have been noted if the vehicle had been serviced as Shawmotors claim it had been. The staff at Shawmotors appears to be completely arrogant and do not care about the customer. Their email replies usually consist of 1 sentence with no indication who has written the email or no explanation why they constantly lie to the customer. In all my years of dealing with suppliers in various trades I have never come across anyone as unprofessional as Shaw motors.
