DO NOT PAY A DEPOSIT FOR A CAR!!!

An absolute disgraceful operation being run from this dealership, specifically from their sales rep Calvin. Happily took a £100 deposit over the phone for a car, which I planned to collect at the weekend (I'd like to emphasize that at this stage I asked the duration of the hold as I was isolating with COVID). Was unable to get over to the dealership as my partner (lift to the dealership) came down with COVID and phoned to confirm I'd collect it the following weekend. Had a missed call from Kia, but no voicemails etc and tried to ring through again in midweek but didn't get through. Phoned again today to confirm that I'd be collecting tomorrow and Calvin has confirmed that they have sold the car. An absolute disgrace that they are taking customers' money for deposits and selling the car that has apparently been 'taken off the market', even before they have refunded the deposit and contacted the customer. I'll be raising this with the motor ombudsman and writing a formal letter of complaint to Kia's head office.
