A daughter of a family friend who lives abroad asked me to go with her today to view a car, I did the research on the centre and saw quite a few bad reviews as well as a few good ones, so I thought I'd give it a go anyway. First impressions of the garage is its a dump and the cars are the sort you'd buy for a couple of hundred pounds as a run around. The salesman has indeed got an attitude as stated by other reviewers. To be fair, to them the car was cheaper than any others on auto trader, although in the window it was at £2500 and when the daughter viewed it the week before it had dropped by £600 without her even haggling! This alarmed me slightly, then when we came to start the car it had a flat battery. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and got into the car and the engine light was on, the salesman told me this was due to the flat battery and will go out as soon as its charged. We took the car out for a test drive and the whine from the gearbox was unbearable and the light still hadn't gone out. I returned the car to the garage and told him we aren't interested and thanked him for his time. He then quizzed me why I'm not interested, so I told him that I don't know why the lights on and I'm not willing to part with the cash with a hidden problem, at this point he became quite confrontational and told me again it's due to the flat battery and that it needs plugging into the computer and resetting. I went to leave again and once again he became confrontational, saying the same things again. At this point I'd had enough and explained to him that model of car didn't need resetting and explained to him that working for a well known recovery firm with yellow vans I know what I am looking at. He went very quiet at this point and we left. All in all I would stay clear of this garage, if he thinks he baffle you with technical talk he will try and sell you anything. I am just glad I went with her. You'be been warned!
