AVOID AT ALL COSTS

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS I purchased a BMW 116I (KG06KGA) from this "company" back in September 2019 and it was one of the biggest mistakes ive ever made. The fact they are an AA approved dealer means next to nothing as this company will do all they can to avoid fixing any faults which occur with any vehicle you purchase. When first viewing the car the sales man offered us an unaccompanied test drive of the car for a total of 3 miles (the route he instructed) which does not allow any car enough time to warm up nor does it allow you to get the vehicle up to speed as there is a speed limit of 40mph. On return from the test drive we explained we had some issues. After taking the full amount of money and making me sign some barely readable "legal documents" i was allowed to leave. By the time i got home several faults appeared with the vehicle. 1) the airbag light came on 2) the windscreen washers stopped working 3) the door handles were sticking open 4) engine was making a "ticking noise" when home i contacted kent motoring company and he assured me that all the faults will be fixed under warranty if i take it to their recommended garage Maidstone M.O.T & Repair Centre and that if i give them a list all will be fixed. I dropped the vehicle with the garage and left it with them. Once it came to collecting the vehicle i was informed that all issues were fixed minus the airbag light as they have to order parts. The following day it became apparent that none of these issues had been fixed at all. Again I raised the issue with Kent motoring company which resulted in lots of visits back and forth to their repair garage as they kept making excuses as to why they could not complete the repair. They then informed me that if the airbag light was still on at the time its due for an MOT they would pass it with the light on (ILLEGALLY doing an MOT) this has since been reported. months later down the line kent motoring company had still not fixed all the faults with the vehicle and had now starting denying that any had been mentioned to them. After multiple excuses as to how parts had not arrived I was informed that the correct part had now arrived for the airbag light and my car could be repaired, at this point I had already lost all faith in kent motoring company so went to check they did in fact have the correct part. To no surprise i arrive at Maidstone M.O.T & Repair Centre to be greeted by "Raf" i asked to see the item for the repair and he proceeds to pass me a bag with an item bought from Ebay, as expected this was not the correct part to fix the issue known as a "bypass emulator" which bypasses the checks the car does and means that in the event of an accident the airbag will still deploy meaning no child seats could be used in the front of the vehicle. I removed the paperwork showing this to take a photo as it had been months at this point and i was considering court action. As im trying to take the photo "Raf" attempts to rip the paperwork from my hand so i could not take a picture. Fortunately he did not manage this. We ended up taking KMC to court to resolve this issue to which originally they did not contest until a CCJ had been issued against them as they failed to appear. They did not follow correct procedures when filling out court paperwork nor did they send copies out to relevant people as they should. fast forward 2 years down the line to have their appeal to the CCJ heard and "KMC" deny all knowledge of refusing a refund and suddenly change their attitude and offer a refund to what i paid for the vehicle. They not only wasted my time and money buying an unroadworthy car but also my time and money in having to take them to court to get my money back. Avoid this company at all costs.
