I put a deposit down on a VW Golf Convertible I saw on web before it had arrived and had any pics as it was so brilliantly priced. Despite asking twice over the phone I never received any email confirmation or conditions of the deposit. I asked three times for pictures before proceeding with the sale as it would be a 3 hour round trip for me and my young family to condition for viewing. I said explicitly to send pics of any damage to alloys, exterior or interior as I would expect some at the price advertised, so I gave them every opportunity to come clean on the condition. I received some photos but nothing specific to the issues. So off we went for a viewing. All four alloys had issues - Shame they hadn't told me but I can live with that at the price. Inside, the front leather passenger seat, rear seat and centre console had splattering of blue paint, they said their valetter would sort it - ok no problem. Turned out of the showroom on a test drive and there was instantly rear wheel rubbing noises and over every bump, any kind of pre sales inspection would have picked this up. On further inspection of the rear offside wheel arch, it was immediately apparent there had been a poor quality body spray to that quarter - there was paint runs and white paint all over the internal plastics of the arch, the suspension and under carriage. When I pointed it out to the sales guy, the sales manager came over jumped in with no introduction and assured me it as touch up of a little knock, when I said my wife wasn't too keen and I was nervous....his response "I COULDN'T CARE IF YOU WANT IT OR NOT, I WILL PUT IT UP FOR 1 GRAND MORE AS SOON AS YOUVE GONE AS IVE HAD LOADS OF INTEREST". So within 2 mins of returning from a test drive after waiting 2 weeks and them knowing we were travelling 90 mins to see them, THE MANAGER had completely ruined any opportunity to close a sale, broken any trust I would expect him to try to build, displayed no personal customer service and came across midly aggressive. They kindly returned my deposit and we left promptly, never ever to return to a Big Motoring World company again and happy to share our experience with as many as possible in the future.
