I would recommend getting any potential purchase inspected (not by one of his friends garages), Ask to see all service history and watch out for gaps. He can be evasive and somewhat rude and irate in emails, almost childlike if he doesn't get his own way or gets asked a question he can't provide a truthful answer to. The car was clean. No doubt a long winded reply will be posted to this, mainly waffle.
