AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Like so many others, awful experience with this garage. My mum purchased a car here in Feb 2021 and it had to go back 3 times in the first 2 weeks for separate faults. All fixed under warranty (as they should be). My mum died in June 2021. Inherited car, took it to a proper mechanic. So many more faults found. Contacted Hyams as Consumer Rights say they have to fix it within 6 months of purchase. Long story short, rude and obnoxious Paul Hyam strikes again. Denied I had consumer rights, said the car would pass MOT (faults were not about roadworthiness, more serious mechanical faults). No compassion for circumstance. Tried every loophole to get out of the repairs. It’s cost me around £1000 to fix the car and not a penny of that went to Hyams. Would have taken it to an independent arbitrator (and likely won) if I wasn’t suffering such an awful bereavement. Long story short, DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE. They sell with bare minimum done (ie just an MOT) and do nothing more. Customer service is atrocious. You’ll see on other sites/other reviews that Paul will always blame the customer or shirk responsibility for sub standard cars and service. Awful, greedy little man.
