Terrible service
Short story. Car went in and came out with 4 more problems and still ongoing. Long story....... Unfortunately despite other people's experiences, ours was terrible and more they were washing their hands clean of it. Maybe this was bad luck or poor workmanship but the service that followed was not good. We are litterally reporting on the facts and what happened. Our clutch had worn and we needed a new clutch and also the gearbox had started crunching in 1st gear. We booked it in for a new clutch and said about the gearbox issue to the older gentleman "Roy" and that it needed looking at and sorted. We got it back and Roy had said the technician said the gearbox was grinding/crunching and said ok to drive. No idea why they did not look at this but maybe it was now better after clutch? Wrong. We drove away and it was now also crunching in 2nd and not safe and comfortable to drive. ALSO new fault knocking noise from front near side Wheel. This later turned out to be their fault and a new ball joint was fitted. Took it back and its clear the the gearbox issue was not communicated. So now the bill was going up more at our expense due to this. Was returned for the gearbox fault. The gearbox synchros were either reconditioned or replaced. Then got it back. NEW fault: everything seemed fine but between about 60-70mph the engine appeared to make a loud vibrating noise that could be felt. Off we went back and a technician (who seemed helpful & good) was taken out to experience it, which he did. Again back in for a repair. This time dual flywheel was replaced and two bearings that are normally £300 but were taken off another gearbox. Got the car back and seemed ok this time apart from the clutch having a higher bite point than before and an independent garage agreed. BUT then another fault: engine management computer showing faults on driver display. Which were: "tyre pressure malfunction, hill start assist not available and ABS brakes not available." They came on in that order and normally did not stay on for long. Brakes did not felt funny whilst error up. Took it to Busseys main Ford dealer and they plugged in computer. No faults found. Error needs to be there for them to get code. They knew about all the work and suggested that we should contact Roys because it maybe something they have done and can assist. Spoke to "Ian" the manager once again and he basically said he would not help and it was nothing to do with them and said Busseys was wrong to suggest that. Had told me before he "wished he had never seen the car" and once again rude when i clearly asked him if they were going to look at it and help and said he "don't like my attitude" and Hung up on me. Very unprofessional. So now we are left with a fault that has possibly been incured like previous experience. 6 item replaced in TOTAL classing all the synchros as 1. A whole lot of extra expense especially with all the back and forth. Just to add between all this, they kindly (and were not obligated to) gave us a loan old in-house car that im surprised got through MOT(it did have a valid certificate). With sharp rust everywhere, holes in sills, driver side mirror broken and unable to position and a super high clutch that felt scary to drive. Understandly, and with two very small children, we did not use it and took it back because we felt unsafe. I know they will read this so please ask yourself seriously, Roy and Ian and anyone involved, would you deep down be happy with "Roys" if you were us and would you feel we got a fair service even though the car is still not right? I know what your public answer will be of course
