Avoid at all costs!

Avoid at all costs! I went to MrUnique on 13th of October 2021, it was a recommendation from Nextdoor and I wish I’ve checked some real reviews before I decided to give it a go! I’ve moved to Hoddesdon recently so I’ve asked around for some great garage where I could service my Bmw 1 series. The prices are quite high especially top two knowing now that it’s not really a full service but oil and filter change only. I could save myself around a £100 elsewhere! Before I’ve left my car I did ask what can I expect for this price to be done as for oil change only it’s way too high! I was told not to worry as the full check will be carried out as well. When I’ve left my car key it was nothing wrong with it, had no issues whatsoever. It was the date for servicing that made me do it as due to a CoVid situation I have tried to avoid many places at that time. I did ask them to check my roof also, as it’s convertible car and there is some minor issue (I believe) as the roof goes down all the way but does not close the bonnet (possibly sensor?) I requested a quote and mentioned that if it’s not too expensive I would go for it as well. We agreed at that time and I have received a call in the evening just to find out that they didn’t do much really! The roof that I’ve asked them to check has been left untouched. I was then told that for this type of service, they would have to charge me separately only to tell how much more it would cost to fix it! However he was cheeky enough to put that note on my receipt as if he tried or was even bothered to open the roof to know it! What’s worse? On the 15th I went for a little ride just to Enfield town and to my surprise the faulty engine sign illuminated on the dashboard! I was shocked as it was okay until I gave them my car! I have panicked, stopped it for about 15 to 20 minutes, checked whatever I could to my little knowledge about the cars and after that period of time the light disappeared. At first I thought that it was a minor issue (one off) and decided to drive back home slowly, thinking that it wouldn’t happen again… On the 16th of October I went out again to Woodgreen and in the evening the same “thing”happened on my way back home! I was fuming! It was on Saturday so I was unable to flag it up or go to them right away. I did call first thing in the morning on Monday and the gentleman named Steve told me that there was nothing wrong at that time so as far as he’s concerned the job was done as supposed to! At first told me that all they did was an oil change and filter (not a full service as stated on their website), and that they would have to check what’s wrong with it suggesting an extra cost! I’ve switched! Told him that this is what they supposed to do in a first place and that I was told by his work colleague (who asked elsewhere first to confirm) to put my mind in rest when I was leaving my car key. Mr Steve then has changed his tune saying that of course they did that and nothing was wrong? We agreed to a free of charge check but only a quick one as apparently my rare tyres aren’t good enough to do the proper check. (Which proves the point that they didn’t do it in a first place). Today very early in the morning I have left my car at MrUnique again to find out that apparently “it has nothing to do with a service” as faulty nox sensor was shown as current fault as well as in the history of previous diagnostics. I also heard that the problem should be solved temporarily which doesn’t mean that it won’t pop up in a short future. This was the worse thing I could do visiting this place and to my knowledge the nox sensor that I never had problems with will cost around £400. I decided to drive down to Enfield immediately to my old mechanic who did a diagnostic for free and found out that a huge list of errors still exists, nothing has been fixed and no history shows that nox sensor ever was a problem. It shows as current one only and I was told that it could of been replaced on that day, which makes sense why oil changing was taking a whole entire day to do. (I am mentioning what I’ve heard not assuming or accusing). I have a video of it as a proof! My cd player all of a sudden works from time to time, also exists on list of errors. It was my first and last time for sure! I have send an email to Mr Steve a moment ago sending him a video! to make it clear… I am not a problem maker but surely not a clown who can be tricked so easy! I’ve left almost £200 so I would expect a peace of mind for a little while not hesitate to drive to do a quick shopping. I have checked a trustpilot’s reviews afterwards and I’m not the only one here! (Go and see yourself)…Hugely dissatisfied and disappointed! Waste of time and money… Let this be a WARNING to other potential victims. Ps. I have posted this review on theirs website. Today the review is gone! They are trying to brush it under the carpet!
