PLEASE READ MY EXPERIENCE
Found a dream family car on autotrader, a car that stated many positives, after more than 2 weeks of research we opted to buy from Ben Kemp LTD, so we took a bank finance agreement out for over 30 thousand pounds and Ben Kemp LTD received the funds direct in full. My partner and my father had driven for 3 hours to collect the car where on site there was cracks in the windscreen(photos taken at BEN KEMP BEFORE WE HAD DRIVEN THE CAR) that we was not told about and considering and had an MOT from BEN KEMP LTD workshop we naturally thought it must be road legal. Here’s where this on going nightmare begins and still on going. Only a few hours after we purchased the car the engine was smoking and worried for our safety so naturally we continuously tried to speak to Ben Kemp himself but he did not ever want to talk to us, we spoke to numerous assistants and gave them many errors that were wrong with this vehicle including the main smoking engine & fumes in the vehicle and visible smoke. After 10 days of having this car in our possession Ben Kemp agreed for us to send the vehicle back for a full return of money. We returned the vehicle on the pen Kemp’s advice that a refund would be given when the car is returned. Now here is the bigger nightmare, in Ben Kent email I am happy to provide a supporting evidence he states when the car is returned he will refund in full, we spent £390 returning the vehicle on the trailer as it was on suitable to drive and for safety reasons took the best precautions possible, Ben Kemp himself has now sent us an email stating he has checked the vehicle and are no errors at all, Even email sense then camp limited states if there are no errors with the vehicle he would refund in full, email Ben Kemp sent us states the vehicle was in perfect working order when received back on the trailer from us, A later email states that he is not happy to return and money as the reasons he sent the car back do you not hold up as evidence as his workshop has said the car is ever free. Now the bigger nightmare. So, to make this clear Ben Kemp ltd states send the car back and if no errors he will refund. After returning the car (costing us £390) he sent us another email saying he can’t refund us as the car is in perfect working order, but hang Ben Kemp, you told us you would refund us? Now your saying you can’t but you have our money and the car? Now the biggest nightmare! He has now locked the car up and has our 30+ thousand pounds that we took finance out for years at 4.9% interest, we have to pay this monthly, We did some research and got legal advice today and reported BEN KEMP LTD to trading standards and reported to Norfolk police. Here’s the legal advice we got. An official notice has been sent to BEN KEMP LTD giving them 14 days to fulfil there promise for refund and guess what if it’s in an email ITS OFFICIAL!!! YES AN EMAIL IS IN WRITING SO Technically it stands up in a court of law, the advice we have been given by the police is he has 14 days to return the money and he now is commuting an offence that will result in arrest, So is 14 days BEN KEMP LTD must either pay the money back or be visited by the police for theft. The bottom line is: In mr Ben kemps works “we don’t help people like you” attitude and selling dangerous cars unfit for public roads then scams you into taking the car back AND THEN refuses to refund the money? Hang on, you locked my car up and have the money in your bank! Please please to anyone reading this look into BEN KEMP CAR DEALER REIEWS as there are even worse experiences than ours. Proceed with extra caution, get everything in writing even email. Know your rights BUT in any case… Understand your consumer rights and go to court if needed as you will win and that’s exactly what we are preparing for. We lost over 30 thousand pounds, we don’t have a car, we pay the loan and are at the mercy of Ben Kemp LTD until 14 days pass then the police step in. This is our genuine experience from buying a car from Ben Kemp LTD. Good luck to you all, we hope you won’t be the next victim reading this to late.
