Anyone reading these reviews because they are considering buying the black JCW pack mini SD67 AEA- I would think again. I was the second owner of this car (therefore it’s had more than one previous owner as they describe in the listing) for just shy of 6 months, 3 of which I had car. I barely drove it before it went wrong! The car required significant works carried out relating to the engine. They will offer you extended warranty but realise that: 1. It only covers up to £1.5k of work 2. The Warrenty (crystal clear warranties) company are absolutely impossible to deal with and provide you inconsistent advice which may result in you being out off pocket. 3. When I tried to raise a complaint they wouldn’t advise of the process or policy, then further told me that yes they are regulated by FCA but the Warrenty wasn’t?! (Yes actually laughable) Yes senior cars offered to put it right, but absolutely no offer of auto recovery, replacement car or any announce of genuine concern. However you will be told in no uncertain terms that (and I quote) you will not be prioritised over ‘paying customers’. So after waiting for well over a month and a half I knew I couldn’t carry on. I spent my time constantly chasing for updates which very little tangible communication! Was even advised it was above someone’s pay grade to advise me on updates! It was only at the point of taking legal advice and advice from trading standards and rejecting the car under consumer rights grounds that they seem to pull their finger out. Sorry all a little to late. Upon handing the car back they were quick to email me and ask me why I had assigned the V5 to senior cars and this was incorrect and would devalue the car! Given that there was NO communicatIon on the handover I took the logical steps! And clearly no money has been lost given the resale price has been hiked up by £1.5k from when I purchased the car. If they are out of pocket it’s because of the work required, then frankly the ‘health checks’ they claim to provide clearly don’t stack up or they knew there were problems and just decided to sell the car with its dodgy engine?! Who knows?! Given my original plan was always to have the car back I had a few personal belongings in the car so when the car was rejected I had arranged a courier to pick up my personal belongings and private number plate. I was explicit in my email that those were the items to be returned. As a last ‘good will gesture’ they destroyed my private plates!! When I emailed to ask why they wasn’t returned they happily told me they were destroyed. Yes they did offer to replace BUT they would have senior cars signage all over them!! Errr no thanks!!! Yet another example if the Scant regard they have toward customer care. I ended up significantly out of pocket given I had paid for an independent diagnosis (which was disputed by seniors before even seeing the car), had to hire a car, pay for auto recovery, the replacement number plates that were required and the full tank of fuel in the car. Plus the disproportionate time the whole situation took of my time! Far from impressed. I take absolutely no pleasure in leaving negative reviews but in this case it’s wholeheartedly justified. No doubt there will be an elaborate response to this review from them. I haven’t even written this review to full extent of how bad the experience actually was. I would not recommend Senior Cars and would urge anyone reading this to seriously consider if the hassle, financial loss and level of arrogance is worth it.
