R and L Cars in Melksham was in Swindon Crown court 10.11.15 on charges of fraud, he pleaded guilty to offences under the Consumer Protection Act. He falsified the service history on the car he sold us getting WJ Joyce to stamp the service booklet when no service had been carried out in over 2 years. He hid expensive advisories by having a 2nd MOT carried out 3 weeks after the car had already had passed an MOT, getting his mechanic to not record the advisories. He hid the fact that the car was stolen recovered and missing for 6 months. He told a tale that the previous owner had split up with his wife, leaving the second key in the house, he bought the car from/ with his colleague Richard Leverett of Autoprep, it came from a salvage auction. He put private plates on the car with no authorisation from DVLA. We asked to return the car 1 week after buying it, he refused to do anything to resolve the issues. He is a very dishonest dealer and not one I recommend.
