Misleading MOT advice to try & sell part
Car was there for an MoT. Received a call saying it would fail on rear pads and disks. I knew rear pads were low (3 ish mm) but the car is doing <1k pa at the moment so they’re still fine. Rear disks had a lip of approx 0.5mm. Service “advisor” was insistent it would fail an MOT. I asked her to put it in writing to confirm it would fail before I authorised work. This didn’t happen of course. Didn’t hear back next day, so assumed they were putting it through. Left a few messages, no return call. Called the next day and was told they were waiting for rear brakes and they service advisor was off sick. So I said I’d collect the car snd take it elsewhere. Miraculously I received a call back within 30 mins saying it had passed its MOT with the rear pads being an advisory. DL Bristol just seem to have become a disingenuous company and they’re not interested in doing what’s best for the customer, it’s just sell sell sell. If I hadn’t challenged them I wouldve had a £600+ bill. Wont ever return, why would I when I know I can’t trust what they’re saying when it comes to work required.
