Upsetting experience. Simon is a bully.
We put a deposit on a van after being assured by the director all faults pointed out would be rectified and also being advised the type of van was longer than the standard for that make ( we need the room for my daughters wheelchair). My husband telephoned Simon a couple of days later just to check on a few things to be told the minor works would not be carried out as not listed on his sheet. Before my husband could respond he also stated he had plenty of others interested and if we didn’t like what he was saying then he’ll just give us back the deposit. My husband politely advised that as long as the major work had been carried out we would like to continue with the purchase. I telephoned the director a couple of days later to check upon progress and exact length of van and was advised to call Simon as he would know. I telephoned Simon and asked the question which for some reason angered him and his response was ‘ I know where this is going, why do you need to know?’ He then said exactly the same to myself as he had to my husband in that he had plenty of people interested in the van and he’ll just give us the deposit back. I stayed calm although at this point I was shaking. I asked Simon why he felt the need to speak so rudely and required measurements so that we could plan how to fit items in which would have included the wheelchair. He continued to belittle and bully me with his misogynistic tone until I could take no more so told him to stick the van where the sun don’t shine. All I required was an answer to my query, not an interrogation as to why I required that information. Regardless of the reason being for a vulnerable disabled person to have space for a wheelchair, Simon should be mindful that interrogating people is unacceptable. Shame on you Simon. I now need to take this to the motorombudsman and make a formal complaint
