We booked a appointment and was dealt with by Dries. We clearly outlined what we was looking for - a Ford Fiesta with the 1.0 litre Ecoboost Engine (not the 1.1litre) . Dries stated that we would have a look at what they have in the pipeline as these will be quicker and also cheaper as he will be able to offer a better deal on these. At this point we stated this was great but we would like to see all the options including building a new one. Dries and the manager Paul went to look at the Ford KA+ providing a part exchange evaluation.we had a look around a Ford Fiesta Demonstrator they had on the forecourt. Once we got back to the show room Dries went off with Paul to get some options. Dries came back with a car that was well within budget but didn't have the correct engine we was looking for. Dries went away again coming back with a another option a titanium Fiesta with the right engine that was well out of budget. We pointed this out to Dries and off again he went to get another car from Paul. This time he came back with a Ford Fiesta Trend with the Ecoboost engine that was within budget. This was great but again at this point we reminded Dries that we would like to see the cost of building a new Fiesta. At this point again Dries started making reasons against building a new one - we don't know how long they will take, I can get a better deal on the pipeline cars. It was at this point we said that we wanted to look at the options and cost breakdown. Dries reluctantly started taking down what we wanted. Colour we wasn't too bothered about but the cost was more important. We liked the gunmetal grey but as this was a additional cost we wanted to see the difference between a grey Fiesta and the basic red Fiesta. Dries said he would go and get a quote for a newbuild grey Fiesta. It was at this point I stated no go and get two quotes one with the grey and another with the red. Off Dries again went to get some quotes for Paul. At this point my girlfriend and me were quite frustrated at being taken around the park and a quite simple process being made complicated. Dries came back with just one offer. A grey Ford Fiesta Trend with a 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine. It was what we was looking for and to our surprise this was actually cheaper then the pipeline car he was showing us. After this we left as we were frustrated with the process and also frustrated with the sales tactics being used by Dries and Paul to sell a pipeline vehicle. In the end we ended up going to another dealer and having a stress free experience where we didn't feel like we had wasted 2 hours of our time. My advice to anybody going to SMC is see all the options and don't let the salesmen own motives get in the way of what you are looking for.
