Shocking experience
My brother and i visited the hatfield audi dealership for a part exchange, merely because audi company itself suggested this place to us. Most of the reviews about this dealership was positive on their website so we decided to give them a go. We were interested on a few different models however the salesperson doing his job pushed us to test drive a3 and my brother really liked the car. Our own car was valued at £4000 in other dealerships and so audi accepted to go with that price too. The decieve and lies started from here by the salesperson named Andrew Paine . First of all we were told that the car had only 2 previous owners but the truth was it had 3 owners. Andrew and his manager offered us the following for free on the price that was agreed on: Gap insurance Tyre protection Key protection Assistance recovory and few other things Which in my sane head was too good to be true as I have bought and sold so many cars in the past 20 years and did for sure know that deale lerships do not give anything for free like this. Long story short, we were called by Andrew few days after that the car would be ready on a Sunday but because its on a weekend and we need to do a few maintenance on the car int he workshop, the car therefore would be ready to be collected on monday. The real deceive started on this day when we went to sign the contract and collect the car. Initially we were told that the finance would cost us £268 however everytime when I asked him to give us the exact costs of every month, he would twist things and change the subject. When reading the contract i noticed that on the paper he valued our car at £2700 when in fact was valued at £4000. I asked him about this cause it is every customer's right to check the paperwork and if any problem with it should be put forward. But here he acted defensive and told us that "this is audi dealership and we would never decieve our customers. Back in the days, dealrships used to do this but its not done anymore." Yea right... He really thought that we would sign the contract without first reading it. When he couldnt answer my question about the value of my car, he called his manager to save him from falling. The manager like a good team mate came and explained that my car was valued this much less because all the services that i mentiond in above which we were told that we will recieve for free, they were actually charging us £1300 for them. When we told the manager that we were told that they will all be free, he denied it and said we never said anything would be free of charge. They also added an extra £300 on the final price for workshop and maintenance and if i did not check the contract properly, they would have robbed us off... All am trying to say is that it doesnt matter which company you visit, if they are big and well known or not, you will always find thieves that would do anything in their power with their bosses to earn extra bit of money off of you. You just need to pay more attention. Unfortunately i changed my mind from buying audi car all together just because of this bad experience I had and I highly not recommend anyone to visit the Hatfield dealership. And please if you want to check reviews dont just rely on reviews written on the audi website. Definitely check other websites to get a better idea of what you are dealing with.
