Small Claims court and lying

We took our car for service. My other half was told the tyres were below the legal limit and would fail the MOT, we were also told that another part of the car underneath was a fail. My other half paid for the "repairs". I subsequently reviewed the video recording debrief taken by the car technician to find him categorically lying on camera whilst holding the tyre gauge showing it well within limits ~5mm vs 1.6mm legal limit plus I had an independent car mechanic review the other failure who said it was not a fail at all. Along with this, one of the fails was never recorded on the MOT GOV website. After 3-6 months of emails, letters, to both head office (who took no action) and multiple phone calls we had gotten nowhere with a terrible attitude from the Service Manager who was totally apathetic, rude and would not respond to any email questions. I submitted my case to the small claims court and they settled out of court, our worst experience of a garage to date. Lacking in professionalism, care and pride in their work. Avoid.
