Very disappointing - Would not use them

I reserved a VW EOS 2008 in April 2021. I then went onto test drive the car and agreed to put down a £500 deposit. After agreeing that I was told it would be useful for the car to have a part replaced....at my expense I agreed which cost another £480. pounds. On picking the car up and paying the full cost of the car and the part that was replaced, I drove away and realised there was next to no petrol in the car - less than 10 miles according to the display. I filled the car up with £70.00 petrol. I drove back home less than 10 miles. Day 2 I didn't drive it, day 3 less than a quarter mile driving, it broke down. Needed tow truck and was told later the fuel pump needed replacing. I asked for my money back. Initially I was told I wouldn't get the £480 back for the part I was told should be replaced when I paid the deposit. After writing a letter (recorded etc.) I was told I would get the refund, but not the petrol...So down £70 Petrol, one month's tax after only 3 days, and £25.00 car insurance fee....Not offered a penny more for my trouble or having to go back to get my money... Not what I would call professional. Also saw car up for sale - hiked up to cover their costs of I suspect part and tow truck, with probably my petrol!! .Salesman was very nice, but owner very unprofessional - for the sale of £70.00 awful service.
