Old school in the very worst tradition

Just when you think the used car business had shaken off its cowboy image, along come this bunch of crooks to remind you that the tired old trope isn’t actually nearly as tired as you’d thought - or hoped. I bought a nice looking 2018 Volvo V60 (YX68 HGE) from Chris Moseley in late March without a test drive - not then permitted - but after having been assured the car had been serviced and was in perfect condition. However, on the drive home the car told me a couple of electrical systems weren’t working and that it needed a service. I should have turned the car around there and then and it’s to my lasting regret that I didn’t as so began two months of disinterest, lies and broken promises. Williams shed not one single bead of their own sweat to fix the car over the course of the two months. When told by Lipscomb Volvo the cause of the problems and what was required to fix them, The Williams Group refuted their findings and refused to fix the car as per their recommendations. This was all done without The Williams Group actually ever speaking to Volvo. My consequent request for the cancellation of the sale and the return of my money were ignored until the finance company, Admiral, stepped in. Admiral were fantastic and eventually broke the deadlock. My money was eventually returned but The Williams Group remained unapologetic to the last. Utter, utter c*ckwombles.
