Terrible dealership avoid!
Do I recommend this dealership….. hell no! To find out why read on - I put a deposit down on an A5 sport back 70 plate with 7000 miles on the clock that was over £40k, I was told it would be back at the dealership at the weekend (it was an ex-demo car). Then I got an email from the James saying they didn’t know when the car would be back so would be in touch the next week, which is not the response I would expect. I phoned speaking to James and David who is part of the senior management here, he promised the car was in as new condition. I decided to give them the benefit of doubt as I was told the sales guy was new and I had been reassured the car would be immaculate. The car came back into the dealership 1 and half weeks after they took my deposit. They were pushing me to collect the car the same day as viewing and I was told at this point and I quote "two of the alloys have 2cm kerb marks which would be rectified". When I viewed the car which was almost brand new it had more marks than my current 2014 A5! When I arrived it was dirty and dusty inside I felt embarrased for Audi to present it in that condition plus all the below problems for a so called "immaculate" car. 3 alloys were kerbed half the way around Back bumper was scratched, Bonnet was covered in stones chips, Windscreen had a chip Passenger wing mirror had scratches in the paint Then we move into the interior - Centre console loads of small scratches including about 5 deep ones Piano gloss on the dashboard had a deep large scratch Interior rear view mirror had a huge chip out of it Driver door panel badly scuffed about 20cm along the bottom section something you would see every time when using the car. All 4 isofix covers were missing in the back Driver and passenger seats had bad wrinkles in the leather I was really disappointed to say the least, I loved the car model and trim level etc…. it fell short of my expectations and expectations both David and James had set. David came out to see me his response and James manager was it’s a used car so I shouldn’t expect perfect as it won’t be. This is a car that’s 6 months old and 7000 miles, you can’t tell me it should have all that list of things wrong! David refused to put it all right at their cost due to margin for them, only offering to do the alloys and centre interior mirror. It’s a rare vorsprung model so I asked them to quote for if I pay to sort the other bits out myself. After chasing 3-4 days later James gave me a cost of approx £300 + fitting so I agreed on the 12th May. I chased again 1 week later about collecting the car I got an email back which gave me very limited time slots all first thing when I live 2 hours away but what happened next was the thing that sent me over the edge. I got a call from James saying him and his manager didn’t see the point in doing the bits inside because the cost to me would well over £1k, his manager was confident the valet could sort out the scratches on the interior door panel (which by the way I know would never be possible). My understanding was I had already agreed this at a cost of £300+ fitting and that the work was already being carried out ready for Saturday, to say I was fuming and disappointed yet again would be an understatement. I told James I was unhappy and it’s safe to say I decided to get my deposit back and take my business elsewhere and I thankfully have secured myself the same car but newer and less miles from another Audi garage. I got an email from James a day later saying he had been ‘let go’ so feel free to go back for better service! Their service and attitude is appalling, David is a typical old fashioned sales person they constantly say "well if this isn’t the car for you" to every customer which is clearly a sales tactic. They bulls***t their way through with no upfront honesty, integrity and they lie.. If you want a nice experience buying a car DONT use Poole Audi for approved used steer clear is all I can say!
