Didn’t even get home without a fault!

Drove 60 miles, just over 2 hours to view a VW Passat estate. . Everything seemed ok, pleasant enough welcome, and happy on inspection and test driving. Made an offer, taxed and insured the vehicle and was on my way. Stopped and filled up with £75 worth of diesel as not much was left in the tank. Got on to the motorway doing about 80mph all of a sudden lost power, glow plug warning light comes on with an error message “take to garage!” Hadn’t even got the car home without it showing what are potentially serious issues! Called the seller from an SOS bay and explained what had happened and I wanted a refund. So back I went, where the seller was admittedly apologetic and refunded me the full amount for the car, but was arguing over the fuel I had just put in it. “I didn’t ask you to put fuel in it” was the response, to which is clearly illogical for a commute back to home if everything was ok! Managed to finally get back the fuel cost after a slight argument but I still lost out with insurance admin costs etc. All in all a wasted day, a faulty car within 30 mins of driving home. Wouldn’t recommend this dealer to anyone!
