Do they actually sell cars?
We've been looking at renewing our Nissan Leaf, now three years old, and we like to buy low-mileage demonstrators as they provide good value for money... we're cash buyers and we want to buy an E+ Tekna. This company trades as Westway Nissan and we contacted Westway Manchester via the online form about a four-month-old ex-demonstrator listed on CarGurus... no response. Two weeks later, we sent them a follow-up... still no response. The car was still shown as for sale. So we contacted Westway Rochdale about different 4-month-old model listed for sale there... but it wasn't available because a member of staff had taken it on his holidays and wouldn't be back for a week. Another different one was listed at Westway Stourbridge... but (wait for it!) wasn't available for viewing because... a manager was using it and it wasn't known when he would be back! I appreciate that the pandemic has badly affected trading everywhere but now that everything is opening up again, surely Westway would make sure that its demonstrator vehicles were available if they are being listed as "for sale"? In fairness to staff, they were helpful and apologetic (Westway Stourbridge were keen to sell us a new one instead!) but 0 out of 3 sales opportunities can't be good for business.
