Waste of money
I bought an automatic car from Graham at Beverley Autos in mid-January this year for £2350. It was an older car but they told me it had been looked after, only one previous owner and that I was getting a really good deal after a bad experience with my previous car. I was very happy when I first got the car and Graham reassured me that the noise the engine was making was just because it was an older car. I really wanted to believe that this time the car I was buying would not have any issues, so I didn’t question it too much. As I started to drive more I noticed a scraping noise coming from the front left wheel area when I was turning, which got much worse over the months of January and February. The car was due for a service so I waited until then to raise my concerns about the scraping noise. At the beginning of March when I had the car serviced, they informed me that the car had a fatal engine fault and that the noise the engine was making was an indicator of that, not just the noise of an older engine. We were advised from a trustworthy mechanic that it was not worth the money we would spend fixing the car. We then called Beverley Autos and they sent their own mechanic, who confirmed there was definitely a fault in the engine that would need to be fixed. Beverley Autos agreed to extend the warranty on the car until the end of the year but said they would not fix anything until the car actually broke down. As a 21 year old woman who sometimes works until 11pm, I did not feel safe or comfortable driving a car with an engine making strange noises, just waiting for it to completely break down so that Beverley Autos would finally step in and fix the car they sold to me with a fault. I was forced to scrap the car for £500 as I also didn’t feel comfortable pawning it off onto an unknowing person. Terrible customer service and a waste of money, not to mention the stress this caused for me and my family.
