Mistakes happen, but fix what you should

My mother bought a 15 plate Hybrid Yaris from RRG some years ago with money she received when my sister passed away.....everything from start to finish of the sale was superb, couldn't fault the process or the sale support we received from day one. The young lad who served us was brilliant in every way possible. He even hand delivered paperwork off a few days after the sale. All servicing and MOT'S are carried out by their fully trained and competent staff. My mother has a pick up service that is in place (RRG pick up and drop off her car) as she is severely disabled and does genuinely rely on her car for transport, without some kind of wheels, she is immobile. In all honesty she has been through a fair bit and kicked about pretty good. The recall of the airbag system meant that as soon as covid was contained somewhat, she could go out again in it, (she is one of these people who wouldn't drive it until it was sorted, just in case) meaning she's been locked up in house for months. Without ageUK we'd have had problems. In taking this car to the repair centre, the car was damaged by a Toyota representative, now Toyota are claiming no fault was done on their part. The door in question is a door I had replaced and had sprayed to match without blemishes, a door that was perfect the morning of the recall. This is backed up by the auto technician (AA) that came out to help start the car because it hadn't been used in months and had sat on her drive for some time. Now Toyota want nothing to do with it, claiming it wasn't them who damaged the car. This is wrong....leaving me with no choice but to have the repair done for her. Not because we should or because it needs it. But because its the right thing to do. Would I recommend RRG-no, Would I buy from them again - probably not. Would I have a car serviced by them - no even if I had video proof and photos of my car prior to them touching it. They would still dismiss the claim and state the report says otherwise (no staff member wants to show failings or mistakes and this is what's happened here, a mistake has been made) Don't worry Toyota, I'll clean up your mess. Because its the right thing to do. Have a good day, stay safe. J
