Dangerous Practices - Avoid at all Costs
Our brand new Defender 110 (which we received in Dec 2020) kept stopping without warning leaving me dangerously exposed on the road. Upon the third time of this happening, the vehicle was returned to Hatfields for repair. They claimed to have replaced the fuel rail at that point, road tested the vehicle and declared it safe. Within 48 hrs of collecting the 'fixed' vehicle, the same problem recurred and I was involved in a serious near miss with a bus as a result. The vehicle was recovered and was repaired again. We have asked them repeatedly to provide proof that they carried out the first repair as they said they did. They cannot provide the proof and it seems likely that they never actually did the first repair. So they were happy to let me drive a car they knew to be dangerous having told me they had effected a repair which they refuse to confirm they actually carried out because the evidence points to the fact that they didn't. Rather than act with integrity and professionalism, they have apparently lied, treated me with contempt and knowingly placed me in harms way. Because I will not drop the matter, they have now told me that they will not communicate with me any more because the relationship has 'broken down'. How's that for customer service. Do not trust this dealership.
