Dishonest with false information

Initially called up to enquire about a vehicle. The salesman Matthew Sellors was helpful all through until I had placed a deposit on the car (19th July). Once the deposit was placed, the communication from Matthew went downhill. I had not received any phone calls with updates nor was I told the truth by him. The vehicle was listed for sale with the previous owner’s private registration still on the vehicle. The 48 Hour collection stated on the website was no longer 48 Hours. 1 week later I was informed the vehicle was ready for a test drive. I had travelled over 50 miles to finally see the car 1 week after the initial deposit. On arrival I was told the MOT would be conducted and the vehicle would be ready for the 28th July. The previous owner still wanted to retain his plate which was still not done. On the 26th July I was informed by Matthew that the retention process had begun, THIS WAS LIES! I had called the manager and asked to change salesman as Matthew seemed like he had no interest in selling this vehicle and the majority of the information came from him was also false. Christopher Burt took over and confirmed the retention had not started as he still had all the paperwork to send off. After a long wait I finally went to collect the keys (11th August) where the manager Paul and Chris were present for the handover. I was made aware by Chris that the warranty period for the vehicle had been extended to 1 year from the regular 3 months due to the inconvenience. When arriving back home I had noticed the service book had not been stamped but a full MOT and Service was carried out. I contacted Chris and his advice was to come back to get the book stamped. This is meant to be done at the time of the service. 1 Week into having the car and its already in for repair, the front calliper was seized causing the brakes and disks to get dangerously hot and burn. A big bill for only having the car for 1 week. Again, less than 3 months in and there is a 2nd repair on the car. The coolant for the engine was thick and brown causing sludge to build up and restrict the flow. After waiting over 6 weeks I had finally received the V5 for the vehicle. I was told due to Covid things were slow but by the looks of it the staff were just in slow mode. Since then, the vehicle has broken down for the 3rd time. This time the car is completely dead. I had called Chris regarding a Warranty repair as I was still within the 1 Year extended warranty period. He had informed me that the vehicle had no warranty as I had supposedly opted out for this. The money was instead taken off the car and only the standard 3 Moths was given. WHAT A DISHONEST THING TO DO! I have been left in a situation now where the vehicle must be repaired at my own expense. After giving the vehicle to a garage he has informed me that it has been Modified and the ECU has been tampered with. I was also told that the vehicle had most likely not been serviced. All the filters in the vehicle were black and filled with dirt. The oil filter was also filled with gunk which was clear to see that a service had not been done or it was extremely rushed missing crucial parts. The mechanic was kind enough to go out of his way to gather the timestamps from the ECU of when the vehicle was modified. It was also bypassing crucial mechanical procedures. The vehicle failing was due to the Modifications I was made unaware of. The exhaust was also modified which was brought to my attention by the mechanic, I HAD PURCHASED THIS UNDER THE IMPRESSION IT WAS STOCK! After contacting Gerry McQuillan and explaining the situation he also refused to help or take any liability to this vehicle. Over £1500 spent out of pocket just to get the car up and running again and I have only had the vehicle for less than 6 months. Avoid the John Clark group and especially Edinburgh Motorchoice. All you will receive is disappointment and false hope.
