Their word is NOT their bond
Been a long term customer of Hendy Brighton, had three previous new vehicles, was going to acquire fourth, a Mazda MX-5, was referred to Hendy Mazda in Eastleigh (HME). After a years search, being loyal to Hendy, I asked if HME can match (not better) the best offer from another dealership, I would go with HME, I got a rather unwarranted sarcastic reply back from its sales manager that I was quibbling over £1 a month repayment. Apart from the fact that we could retrospectively make the same allegation back, she fail to acknowledge the accumulated sum is quite substantial. When we decided to proceed with the other dealership, the sales manager finally matched the best deal, so we proceeded with HME purely out of loyalty to the Hendy group and ordered the vehicle due for delivery in March 2021. In Feb 2021, HME contacted me to advise delivery of my white car delayed to end of April, however they have other coloured cars available for March delivery, which I can have, but I need to pay the colour premium. Im not bothered about colour but am not keen to pay the premium which was why I ordered a white vehicle. Hendy Mazda cannot oblige. Furthermore I've already provisionally sold my current vehicle, new owners promised to take possession of it when my new vehicle arrives in March. Instead of acknowledging my current position imposed my HME's inability to deliver as promised, HME refuse to take responsibility, instead blames Mazda Japan and CV19, and said delivery was never promised, only estimated, as stated in the t&C's! The only other option given to me by HME was to cancel my order for a full refund of my deposit. I was well taken aback by the attitude of HME's sales manager's nonchalant attitude, no attempt to keep the deal, which her sales rep and I had spent over a year to set up! In annoyance, I challenged her, why she can't contemplate offering me use of a courtesy car to bridge the gap when I'm stranded without a car. She hesitated then replied she has to ask her brand manager. At this juncture, I have lost good faith and trust in this dealership and seriously considering cancelling the entire order, if not for the predicament I will be left in. My conclusion of HME is "my word is NEVER my bond" ...
